Hohner – Harmonica Tradition “Made in Germany”

For over 160 years, Hohner has been crafting high-quality harmonicas and is one of the world’s most respected manufacturers in this field. The Hohner Marine Band Deluxe in G major is produced in Germany and combines traditional craftsmanship with modern technologies—a guarantee of long-lasting quality and sonic brilliance.

In developing its instruments, Hohner draws on decades of experience, continuous innovation, and close collaboration with musicians from around the world. The result is instruments like the Marine Band Deluxe, which perform equally well in the studio, on stage, and in everyday use.

Technical Details of the Hohner Marine Band Deluxe in G Major

At the heart of the Hohner Marine Band Deluxe in G major is the sealed pearwood chamber body with rounded channel openings. This design not only ensures a comfortable feel but also prevents moisture from penetrating, thereby significantly extending the instrument’s lifespan. The airflow is particularly tight thanks to the 7-point screw-reinforced construction, which enables extremely fast response and high volume.

The harmonica features 20 durable reeds, whose longevity has been significantly improved through optimized materials and manufacturing methods. The 0.9 mm-thick brass reed plates are secured with three self-tapping screws—a detail that simplifies maintenance and any necessary replacements.

Robust Design Meets Practical Use

The domed stainless steel covers with side sound slots deliver the characteristic, powerful tone of the Marine Band series. Mounted with four cover screws, they ensure stability and precise sound projection. The newly introduced TORX® screws offer additional security and make maintenance significantly easier.

The instrument comes in a Snapcase—a modern, compact case (dimensions: 46 x 37 x 142 mm) that is ideal for both transport and space-saving storage. This new packaging concept is further proof of Hohner’s thoughtful product development.
