Rohema Percussion: Tradition and Innovation Combined

Rohema Percussion, a family-owned company with over 130 years of experience, stands for the highest quality and innovation in the field of percussion instruments. Made in Germany, the Rohema Straw Brush Flat combine traditional craftsmanship with modern design. Rohema relies on sustainable materials and environmentally friendly production to offer musicians high-quality and durable products.

Technical Details of the Rohema Straw Brush Flat

The Straw Brush Flat measures 360 mm in length and 21 mm in diameter. It is made from bundled European sorghum, which, due to its higher moisture content and slightly greater weight, creates a slight top-heaviness. This improves rebound and ensures a comfortable playing experience.

The narrow handle is made of ProGrip Rubber, a non-slip material that provides a secure grip even during long playing sessions. The wide, fanned-out striking surface produces smacking, soft sounds with less attack than wooden sticks, but with significantly more volume than classic metal brushes. These characteristics make the Straw Brush Flat an indispensable tool for drummers and percussionists who value sonic diversity.

Versatile applications and unparalleled sound quality

The Rohema Straw Brush Flat are ideal for quiet passages, such as in jazz arrangements or acoustic sets. They can be used on both the drum set and the cajon, offering impressive volume and a soft response. The unique choice of sorghum as the material creates a sound that’s perfectly suited for experimental sounds and dynamic nuances.

Compared to wooden sticks, the Straw Brush Flat offers less attack but a warmer tone and a pleasant volume. This makes them particularly well-suited for musical genres that call for a subtle yet present sound. The brushes can also be used in combination with other sticks, brooms, or rods to create innovative soundscapes.

Why choose the Rohema Straw Brush Flat?

The Rohema Straw Brush Flat are the perfect choice for musicians who want to expand their repertoire and discover new timbres. Their well-thought-out design, high-quality craftsmanship, and versatile applications make them an indispensable tool for drummers and percussionists.
