Manufacturer – Ortega Guitars and Instruments for Modern Musicians

Ortega Guitars is one of the leading manufacturers of acoustic instruments and is recognized worldwide for quality, innovation, and a passion for music. The brand develops guitars that not only deliver exceptional sound but also offer comfortable playability.

An important part of Ortega’s philosophy is taking into account the diverse needs of players. That’s why, in addition to classic models, the manufacturer also offers special guitars for left-handed players. These instruments are not merely adapted but are systematically designed for the corresponding playing style.

The Ortega R18S-L 4/4 Left-Handed Classical Guitar with Gig Bag is an excellent example of this philosophy and is aimed at musicians seeking a high-quality instrument with reliable craftsmanship.

Technical Details – High-Quality Tonewoods for a Warm and Balanced Sound

The top of the Ortega R18S-L 4/4 Left-Handed Concert Guitar with Gig Bag is made of solid cedar. This tonewood is particularly prized in classical guitar making because it delivers a quick response and a warm, full sound. Cedar truly reveals its characteristic richness of tone, especially when playing fingerstyle techniques and classical music.

The back and sides are made of bubinga, a premium tonewood with excellent resonance properties. Bubinga ensures clear projection and supports a balanced tone with powerful bass, warm mids, and brilliant highs.

The guitar’s neck is made of African mahogany. This wood is known for its stability and pleasant feel, ensuring a comfortable playing experience. Combined with the rosewood fingerboard, it results in precise tone response and comfortable playability.

With a scale length of 650 mm, the guitar meets the classic standard dimensions of a concert guitar. This scale length ensures balanced string tension and a familiar playing feel. The nut width of 51 mm offers ample space for clean finger positions and is particularly well-suited for classical playing techniques.

The rosewood fingerboard features a total of 19 frets and enables a versatile musical range—from classical compositions to modern fingerstyle arrangements.

The high-quality chrome tuners in an elegant lyre design with white tuning pegs ensure precise tuning and stable intonation. At the same time, they emphasize the instrument’s classic appearance.

The Ortega R18S-L 4/4 Left-Handed Concert Guitar, including a gig bag, comes factory-equipped with Knobloch EDQ 34.0 MED/HIGH Tension strings. These high-quality strings support dynamic sound projection and ensure a clear, balanced tone.

The natural matte finish provides an elegant look and a particularly pleasant feel. Many guitarists prefer matte finishes because they feel more natural and, at the same time, really bring out the wood grain.

The package also includes a practical Pro GigBag. This allows you to transport the guitar safely and reliably protect it from external influences—ideal for lessons, rehearsals, or performances.
